Definitely try it using the free trial and it will soon be evident that it's a editor that's needed in anyone's collection of required applications for almost any type of editing dealing with text like coding, writing, and anything else. There are many advanced features that include syntax highlighting or coloring for many. ![]() I realize that's quite a thing to claim but it's true. UltraEdit for Linux (64-bit) allow you to write and edit for HEX, HTML, PHP and other programming language. ![]() ![]() There's so many features I could praise it for but it's just the best for almost anything I could ask for. It's column mode is the best when that's a feature needed. UltraEdit is a text editor that including macros, configurable syntax highlighting, code folding, file type conversions, project management, regular expressions for search-and-replace, a column-edit mode, remote editing of files via FTP, interfaces for APIs or command lines of choice, and more. This is the editor I go to when I need the best for doing raw coding for websites and programming. I even paid for a lifetime update option when it was available. I've used this editor for many, many years now and it's always been the one I use when I need the most feature rich and useful one available. I know this is a late review compared to others but I feel compelled to add this.
